mooching on a Saturday

After a hectic few weekends and the juggling madness that is half term this weekend was a slowed down, do nothing kind of weekend.
We took a trip to Puddletown forest, having trampled around most of Thorncombe woods several times we had never ventured into the forset which is next door, it turns out is spectacular,  it's muddy,  and hilly and it allows the kids the much needed opportunity to climb trees and get dirty.
Having packed enough snack, drinks and layers of clothing for a hours strolling I was shocked to find 3 hours had passed us by before we set off home.
Puddletown town forest is roughly 4 miles from Dorchester,  unless your following in my directions in which case you'll drive 6-7 miles, most of which is in the wrong direction and you'll have to turn around on a dirt track in the middle of nowhere.
